 LEGIT/DAI New Chief Of Party Pay Courtesy Call On GC's Board of Commissione

(Monrovia, December 17, 2020) The new chief of Party of LEGIT/ DAI Mr. Gabriel Abraham, today paid a courtesy call on the Board of Commissioners of the Governance Commission for acquaintance and to further strengthen collaboration between LEGIT/ DAI and the Commission.

Mr. Abraham visit is in accordance with existing working relationship between the two institutions. In a brief remarks, he expressed appreciation for the existing collaboration with the GC as a key partner and pledged to continue to support ongoing projects.  He said, even though it’s unfortunate that the project is coming to an end but there are some activities that needed to be carried out to make sure that the projects undertaken are left in a sustainable manner.

He disclosed that one of his major concerns is to do project assessment of LEGIT’s work – what was done, what could have been done, challenges and the way forward, a full assessment of LEGIT project.

 The Executive Director, Ms. Cecelia Flomo welcomed Mr. Abraham and his team as well as expressed GC’s availability for continuous collaboration. She encouraged the LEGIT team to widen their future engagement with the Commission in its governance related programs in order to strengthen the policy framework environment.


Meanwhile, Commissioner Elizabeth Dorkins, Officer-In Charge of the Governance Commission praised the LEGIT/DAI mission for their work in the country over the years. She said, LEGIT has been supportive in providing numerous assistances to the Governance Commission and in other areas in government to enhance a better working environment and program implementations.

Commissioner Dorkin informed the new LEGIT chief of party of the Commission’s many challenges and successes since its establishment. She said, a lot of work has been done to inform and lead the governance reform process in Liberia, designs policies and recommends implementation strategies to strengthen an inclusive, participatory, just and accountable system of government based on merit and adheres to the principle of good governance
